Our Story
This practice began with a simple idea: that people deserve more than assembly-line care. Dr. Miely built something slower, steadier, and more personal. A place where trust is earned over time, and where patients often become lifelong friends.
Upper Arlington has grown, families have changed; but this idea still holds.
Meet Dr. Mark A Miely
A Lifelong Learner
Dr. Miely studied at Wittenberg University before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University. But his education didn’t stop there. He completes 50–100 hours of continuing education every year – well beyond what’s required – so you always receive the most current, thoughtful care.

He’s certified in moderate sedation, which means you can complete more treatment in fewer visits, with less anxiety. It’s part of his ongoing commitment to making dental care feel easier and more accessible for everyone who walks through the door.
Dr. Miely’s especially known for flawless cosmetic dentistry that looks natural and reflects each patient’s individuality.
Rooted in Community
Dr. Miely has served Upper Arlington for decades, not just as a dentist, but as a neighbor and friend. His practice reflects the values he lives by: trust, consistency, and a deep respect for people and their stories.
Life Outside the Office
An athlete at heart, Dr. Miely spends his free time swimming, biking, golfing, and training for sprint triathlons. He’s also a devoted husband to his wife, Molly, and proud dad to three grown children:
– Sara, who lives in Upper Arlington with her husband, Brett, and daughter, Morgan
– Jayne, an Internal Medicine Chief Resident at Rush Hospital in Chicago
– Matthew, a Columbus-based finance pro who moonlights as a musician with his band, Thomas and the Work-Men.

Sam
Hygienist
Sam came to Columbus for school, and stayed for the people. She’s been with the practice since graduation, drawn to the chance to build long-term relationships with patients.
She’s calm, smart, and a natural encourager. Getting to build relationships with patients over the years and seeing them better their oral health every step of the way has been very rewarding for her!
Outside work, she’s into cooking, travel, spending time with her family and friends, and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Richie.
Sara
EFDA – Certified Dental Assistant
Sara got her start at Fairfield Career Center and later trained at OSU to become an EFDA. She brings care and precision to everything she does.
Her patients know her for her warmth and sense of humor. Ultimately Sara chose dental for her strong drive to serve her community and help people feel their most healthy selves in the process.
After hours, she’s likely hiking, checking out live music, or hanging with her pitbull, Humphrey, and boyfriend, Kyle.
Cheryl
Office Manager
Cheryl has been in dentistry for more than 30 years. She’s been the anchor here since 1998, keeping the front office humming with her sunny smile, quick mind, and heart for people – helping patients find answers, payment options, and peace of mind.
Outside of work, she’s all about the outdoors: kayaking, camping, off-roading with her husband David, and making memories with family: she loves sharing stories about her beloved nephews and niece!
